The Compatibility of Toyota Harrier.

The Toyota Harrier is one of the mid-size Sport Utility Vehicles (SUV) that has been around for a while. One of the features that make it a darling to different motorists is its raised ground clearance dating back to 1997 when its production started. A few motorists share their thoughts about the car with   Roland D. Nasasira.  Allan Sayiire  I have had the Toyota Harrier for three years. I bought it at Shs29m from a local bond and I was attracted to the car because with its raised ground clearance, it can be driven on any road terrain. Regardless of whether it is a muddy road, it will always move. If you are a family person who likes travelling in a sport utility vehicle, the Harrier is the car of choice.  I set my service and maintenance schedule after covering 5,000km but it also depends on how frequently I drive the car. For instance, an engine service where I replace the oil filters and engine oil costs me Shs95,000. I get my spare parts from Kisekka Market and they are readily

AT WHAT POINT OF THE WEDDING CEREMONIES SHOULD I CONSIDER MYSELF LEGALLY MARRIED?

Mbabazi and Okello want to get married however since they are from different tribes, they are not sure which marriage to enter so that they can save money. So, they would like to know when they can consider themselves married.  WHAT DOES THE LAW SAY?  In Uganda, there are different forms of marriage and each of them dictates when the marriage is formalised.  Under the traditional marriage, for instance, one may consider themselves married once the traditional rites and rituals accepted by the bride’s tribe to constitute the formal conclusion of a marriage have been performed. In some cultures, this could be once the bride wealth has been received, in others, it is when the father of the bride formally hands over or drops off the bride to the groom and his family. For example, if Mbabazi takes Okello for “Kuhingira” then once the ceremony is done, they are formally married.  On the other hand, for religious and civil marriages, there are formalities such as wedding vows, exchanging of r

IS THE CERTIFICATE I GOT FROM THE CLAN AT MY INTRODUCTION PROOF OF MARRIAGE ?.

Some of you may have noticed that at most customary ceremonies such as the Kwanjula, there is a certificate given to the groom after the bride has introduced him to her family. In most instances, it is from the clan or the kingdom. The question is, in case you need to prove that you are married, can this certificate be used as proof of your marriage? No, it is not. Marriage Certificates for any traditional marriage are supposed to be issued by either the Sub County Chief or the Town Clerk of that area. That certificate issued by the clan at the Kwanjula or traditional wedding ceremony is mostly for ceremonial purposes, but it has no validity under the law since it is not an official document. 📷: By Andrew Itaga on unsplash. #Barefootlaw #osutayusuf

IF YOU WANT TO WORK FOR SURVIVAL, STAY IN UGANDA BUT IF YOU WANT TO GET RICH, GO OUT OF UGANDA.

The fate of business and plight of job employments in Uganda. Two weeks ago, i took sometime to do consultations in the office of Uganda Revenue Authority (URA) in line with taxation in this Country. From my consultations, i found 20 Litres of Honey is taxed 90.000 Shillings, which is almost equal to the price you buy it at! The same fate with importing Cars, URA charges a tax almost equal to the amount you bought the car. It's aslo confirmed that, URA charges more than 50.000 Shillings tax on each imported Smartphone. I realized that, "over taxation" is what hampers rapid growth in the country. It leaves many people wondering if there is interest to support and empower Citizens who are doing business in the Country, by lowering taxes on imported products and for retail traders in the country. Starting up a business in Uganda is easy but its prosperity entirely relies on how you play the tunes of mafias, one of which is tax evasion (smuggling), which is highly ris

Adjumani West County MP, General Moses Ali has Rejected Proposals to Kick Out Army (UPDF) MPs in Parliament.

For us to sustain what we have achieved in this country, we cannot throw away what we struggled for. For us to sustain what we have achieved in this country, we cannot throw away what we struggled for. I therefore, state that the army should stay in Parliament,” he add
