Speaking during an interview on Monday 1-September-2025 with our news reporter shortly after he picked the nomination form, Hon Oguzu Lee Denis who has also been very vocal and vibrant in playing his legislation, budget, and oversight roles in Parliament, has reaffirmed that, he is going back to Parliament come 2026 general election because not only the people in Maracha Constituency have seen his potential but also the entire region and Country has tested and proven his competency.

“My candidature is the will and decision of the people of Maracha Constituency”, Hon Oguzu stated while mentioning the fight against corruption where he saved government from losing over 700 billion shs during UMEME buyout, Application and Issuance of Free Land titles in the Constituency, rural electrification project for the Constituency and district, upgrading of several health centres, student loan schemes where he wrote a minority report compelling Ministry of Education to allocate slots for each district to benefit from the program, among others as his achievements in 10 years as the MP for Maracha Constituency.

Asked on the information in the public that for one to be a credible leader who can successfully lobby for resources from the government, the leader must be NRM party member and supporter, Hon Oguzu trashed the narrative as a deceptive method of luring voters to vote for unproductive leaders who lack the intellectual ability to express themselves and present issues affecting the public.

“Being in Opposition is not a crime because the people of Uganda spoke in a referendum and Multi-party democracy was ushered into our constitution to allow anyone to leave or join any political party in Uganda”, He explained while blasting some of the recently elected NRM Party flag bearers for failing to catch attention of the big people in government or even to express themselves during the two days National NRM Party Delegates Conference which took place at Kololo Independence Grounds from Wednesday 27-8-2025 and Thursday 28-8-2025.

With the NRM Party being in power for 40 years, Hon Oguzu echoed that, this upcoming general election needs leaders like him who can have a respectable voice when it comes to discussing issues at the national level, adding that, discussing the next transition of power from President Museveni to the next incoming President is also another big topic and Task lying ahead that needs bold leaders.

Stay tuned.
