In what is been perceived as BETRAYAL to the people of Yivu Sub-county, a few years ago, some officials from Maracha District allegedly acted on their own without council approval and diverted over 600 Million Shs, money that was meant for the upgrade of Loinya Health Centre II to Health Center III, a diversion that has left Yivu Sub-county residents into despair as the facility has for many years now functioned without proper equipment, housing structures, electricity, medicines, and inadequate staffing.

Mr. Amandu Tahiri Karim, who is an MP Aspirant 2026 - 2031 for Maracha East Constituency on NRM party ticket, began distributing solar-powered lights to all the 11 Sub-counties of this Constituency from 2023 to date.

A Parish Councilor in Yivu Sub-county, Candiru Jesca who was also a victim of lack of light after she took one of her relatives to Loinya Health Centre II for emergency treatment at night, but only to be bounced back because of darkness intimated that the absence of lights at the health facility made some unscrupulous drunk people who would pass by the road at night, to start abusing health workers.

She appealed for more solar-powered lights from Mr. Amandu Tahiri.

Mr. Denis Amagu, the watchman at Loinya Health Centre II, highlighted the challenges they faced at the facility, with some people trespassing at night up to the staff quarters and also some criminal elements who had attempted to steal items from the health facility due to the absence of lights.

“As a watchman, I have been experiencing some hard times at nights because of some thieves who encroach into the facility and staff quarters intending to cause losses,” he reiterated while thanking the Maracha East Constituency MP Aspirant Mr. Amandu Tahiri Karim for lighting the health center II.

Mr. Denis, however, appealed for the stakeholders to fence for them the health center II.
