Over hundreds and thousands of mourners gathered on Wednesday 4-September-2024 to condol and pay their last respect to Mr Luka Akile Fendru from Oluba Aliba Clan.
📸: Earlier in the afternoon, the widow and the son laid wrath on the casket containing their body of Mr Luka Akile Fendru.
Born in 1930, Mr Luka Akile Fendru was shot with an arrow on 19-August-2024 during a land conflict in Bolomoni Village, Odravu West Sub-county in Yumbe District, where some people from Oluba Langi clan in Ariwa Sub-county and also from Kulikulinga Town are claiming part of his 600 acres of land in Bolomoni Village.

Mr Anguyo Bosco, a son to the deceased landlord, upon narrating the history of their 600 acres of land in Bolomoni Village as the legitimate owners, described his murdered father Mr Luka Akile Fendru as a kind, generous and a peaceful person in his entire life.

The Aringa Kingdom representative at the funeral, Mr Aka Brann communicated to the mourners and the conflicting parties, the stand of the Kingdom as far as this land wrangle is concerned, stating that, jailing people over the capital offenses committed in this incident would not be the solution but rather dialogue, peace and reconciliation would bring sanity and lasting solution for this problem between Oluba Aliba Clan in Odravu West Sub-county and Oluba Langi clan in Ariwa Sub-county.

Superintendent of Police (SP) Stephen Ojok who is the OC Station for Yumbe District said they have deployed security officers in the area and also engaged residents in some brief community baraza to sensitize and urge them to live in harmony.
Following the bloody land conflict where two people from Oluba Langi clan were killed and one person from Oluba Aliba clan was also killed, the concerned stakeholders, including the RDC, the DISO, the Politicians, the Police, the Aringa Kingdom and the Clergies have scheduled 12-September-2024 for a comprehensive dialogue, land dispute resolution and reconciliation between the two clans.
