Mistaken Identity: Deputy Speaker Tayebwa Finds the Woman Who was Tarnishing His Name Over Land Grabbing.

Deputy Speaker, Thomas Tayebwa has said that the current times are the worst for anyone to be a politician in Uganda, wondering whether it is even worth it for anyone to be in involved in Uganda’s politics given the hatred and intrigue in society. "When they saw the name Tayebwa, they concluded it is Deputy Speaker. Street Vendors in Arua city were on the 18th of April 2024 engaged in serious running battles with security agencies following the demonstrations over the implantation of the trade order which seeks to bring order among the business community through curbing illegal practices such as street vending and wrong parking among others. These riots emerged after the make shift structures of the street vendors were destroyed by unknown people in the previous night angering the traders to cause destruction within the city center through demonstrating.. MPs Tell Government to Implement Presidential Directive on Paying Monthly Salary of Shs 60M to Each King / Chief in Uganda.

MPs have asked Gov’t to avail Shs31.330Bn for the payment of a Shs60M monthly salary to each of the 17 gazetted traditional leader (Kings & Chiefs), &  also have additional Shs17.2Bn to be provided for the construction of Palaces for the; lteso, Tieng Adhola, Buruli & Rwenzururu kingdoms as per Presidential directive.  Flavia Kabahenda, Chairperson, Parliament’s Gender, Labour & Social Development Committee revealed that the total annual budget requirement for emoluments for Traditional Leaders is Shs32.170Bn but only Shs840M has been provided, leaving a shortfall of Shs31.330Bn. "Ministry of Finance should avail Shs31.330Bn to cater for the implementation of Cabinet's directive on emoluments to the 17 gazetted Traditional/Cultural leaders. Parliament Urges Government to Provide Shs 4 Billion to Media Houses to Run Awareness Campaign on Tourism in Uganda.
