EVEN YOUR BRAND NAME NEEDS A "KYAPA".

Indeed!! When you own certain intellectual property such as a trademark, then you must have proof of ownership. It is not enough to tell people that the company that makes that nice juice is yours.  You must show proof of that ownership. For example, if you owned land, you would have a ‘kyapa’ (certificate of title) for that land. Similarly, now that you own the trademark for that juice called ‘kawomela’ (delicious) you will need a ‘kyapa’ for that name and juice. This ‘kyapa’ is called Certificate of registration. Once you have this, that trademark (symbol, phrase) that customers use to identify your product truly belongs to you. However, remember this ownership must be renewed after seven (7) years and every 10 years after that to retain ownership of that trademark.

This is useful in situations where you want to limit the transmission to the first two gears and prevent it from shifting into higher gears. It can be helpful for driving in slippery or hilly conditions. 5. + and -: Th

HOW TO PROTECT YOUR BRAND ?.

By BarefootLawyers  Earlier today, we talked about labels such as ‘Gucci’, Nike, Coca-Cola among others. We told you that under the law, these are called trademarks because they are used to identify one product of one company from those of another company. Now we want to talk about how to protect your brand or label using the law. The law allows any person who owns a product with a name (trademark) to protect it from misuse and to determine how their name will be used. This is done by registering that trademark. In Uganda, the body in charge of registering such trademarks is called Uganda Registration Services Bureau under its intellectual property registry. Step 1: You must check and make sure that the name of your product does not already exist. (You must pay a certain fee for this service). Step 2: Once you are sure that your name is not like an existing one, then you must apply for the registration of your trademark. The application must contain the proposed tradema

Top seven  reasons why you should never give up.

Copied. 1. As long as you are alive, anything is possible. The only valid excuse you have to give up is if you are dead. As long as you are alive (and healthy and free) you have the choice to keep trying until you finally succeed. 2. Be realistic. The chance of mastering something the first time you do it is almost non-existent. Everything takes time to learn and you will make mistakes. Learn from them. 3. Be Strong Like Oak Believe me, you are stronger than you think. 1,2 or even 3 little failures are not enough to stop you from achieving your goals. Your goals are far greater than all of the doubts. Imagine a little oak tree. Did it stop growing every time it was facing harsh winds? NO. So why should you stop? You are alive, aren’t you? So you have no good reason to give up. Period. Success will never be a big step in the future, success is a small step taken just now. 4. Prove yourself. You don’t want to be known as someone that is weak and gives up. Go out there and pro
