Chinese Hackers Targeting Telecom Companies in Africa, Europe, Middle East & Asia in a New Cyber Espionage.

Telecommunication providers in the Middle East are the subject of new cyber attacks that commenced in the first quarter of 2023. The intrusion set has been attributed to a Chinese cyber espionage actor associated with a long-running campaign dubbed  Operation Soft Cell  based on tooling overlaps. "The initial attack phase involves infiltrating Internet-facing Microsoft Exchange servers to deploy web shells used for command execution," researchers from SentinelOne and QGroup said in a  new technical report  shared with us. "Once a foothold is established, the attackers conduct a variety of reconnaissance, credential theft, lateral movement, and data exfiltration activities." Operation Soft Cell, according to  Cybereason , refers to malicious activities undertaken by China-affiliated actors targeting telecommunications providers since at least 2012. The Soft Cell threat actor, also tracked by Microsoft as  Gallium , is known to target unpatched internet-facing service

MARACHA SS BOG GIVEN INQUIRY TIME BOUND AS MAJORITY DEMAND FOR TRANSFER OF SCHOOL HEAD.

Majority of stakeholders who showed up for Maracha secondary school  emergency meeting convened to address the school management challenges amongst others recommended for transfer of school head ,Mr Daniel Leku. The stakeholders also gave two weeks ultimatum for BOG instituted commission of inquiry to complete and present their findings of other possible root causes of unrest in the school.  The meeting was triggered by peaceful demonstration  conducted on Wednesday by section of  students from the school to the district headquarters in protest of  what they termed as poor admistration by the school head hence demanding for immediate transfer of their headteacher  Leku Daniel and  director of studies Mr Yosam Omuyo.  During Thursday's meeting  the  student's leadership union board in their memorandum fronted over 13 reasons explaining th
