When we talk about a member of NSSF, it can be confusing. This is because the law requires an employer to register for NSSF. However, this is so that the employer can make contributions on behalf of his/her employees.
The job of NSSF is to receive and invest the money from its members. Since it is employee’s money that is received by NSSF, it means that it is the employee who is a member of NSSF. Therefore, if NSSF receives a part of your salary as contribution, then you are a member.
