President Yoweri Museveni has changed his name to correspond with his academic papers. In a document dated October 6, Museveni undertook a deed poll and a legal deed to formalize a change of his name. Originally Yoweri Museveni, he will now be Yoweri Tibuhaburwa Museveni and from Yoweri Kaguta Museveni to Yoweri Tibuhaburwa Kaguta Museveni. The Electoral Commission announced that aspirants with different names other than those in their academic documents will not be nominated. “I formally and absolutely renounce and abandon the use of the names, Yoweri Museveni, Yoweri Tibuhaburwa Museveni and Yoweri Kaguta Museveni and assume and adopt my full name Yoweri Tibuhaburwa Kaguta Museveni,” reads the document.
