NRM Leaders in Kigezi Sub-region Broke into Traditional Dance to Welcome President Museveni in Rally.

        The ruling NRM leaders in Kigezi sub region Friday broke into a traditional dance as they received their president candidate Museveni in Kabale town. Locally called ekitaguriro, the Kiga dance is one of the key dances of the region’s Bakiga tribe. The Kiga dance is a celebratory dance demonstrating happiness. The dancing of the Bakiga tribe is known for its show of strength with stamping aplenty! Thehe energetic dancers jump midair and stomp the ground with such force that it shakes and raises dust sky-high. This is the kind of entertainment that welcomed the president of the South Western town. Museveni who is on his Kigezi trail later met and addressed a select team of NRM leaders and flag bearers. He highlighted key achievements the party has registered as well as other development strategies he intends to achieve once re-elected. US Sanctions Uganda's Security Commanders.

        A US representative and chairman of the House Committee on Foreign Affairs, Eliot L. Engel, Wednesday called on the Trump Administration to sanction more Ugandan security officials. In a letter to secretary of state, Mike Pompeo and treasury secretary Steven Mnuchin, Engel says there is need for the US to provide robust support to human rights defenders and prevent further abuses perpetrated by Ugandan security forces against the country’s citizens. Facebook Tracks APT32 OceanLotus Hackers to IT Company in Vietnam.

Cybersecurity researchers from Facebook have formally linked the activities of a Vietnamese threat actor to an IT company in the country after the group was caught abusing its platform to hack into people's accounts and distribute malware. Tracked as APT32 (or Bismuth, OceanLotus, and Cobalt Kitty), the state-aligned operatives affiliated with the Vietnam government have been known for orchestrating sophisticated espionage campaigns at least since 2012 with the goal of furthering the country's strategic interests. "Our investigation linked this activity to CyberOne Group, an IT company in Vietnam (also known as CyberOne Security, CyberOne Technologies, Hành Tinh Company Limited, Planet and Diacauso)," Facebook's Head of Security Policy, Nathaniel Gleicher, and Cyber Threat Intelligence Manager, Mike Dvilyanski, said. Microsoft Releases Windows Update (Dec 2020) to Fix 58 Security Flaws.

Microsoft on Tuesday released fixes for 58 newly discovered security flaws spanning as many as 11 products and services as part of its final Patch Tuesday of 2020, effectively bringing their CVE total to 1,250 for the year. Of these 58 patches, nine are rated as Critical, 46 are rated as Important, and three are rated Moderate in severity. The December security release addresses issues in Microsoft Windows, Edge browser, ChakraCore, Microsoft Office, Exchange Server, Azure DevOps, Microsoft Dynamics, Visual Studio, Azure SDK, and Azure Sphere. Fortunately, none of these flaws this month have been reported as publicly known or being actively exploited in the wild. Google Hacker Details Zero-Click 'Wormable' Wi-Fi Exploit to Hack iPhones.

Google Project Zero white-hat hacker Ian Beer on Tuesday disclosed details of a now-patched critical "wormable" iOS bug that could have made it possible for a remote attacker to gain complete control of any device in the vicinity over Wi-Fi. The exploit makes it possible to "view all the photos, read all the email, copy all the private messages and monitor everything which happens on [the device] in real-time," said Beer in a lengthy blog post detailing his six-month-long efforts into building a proof-of-concept single-handedly. The flaw (tracked as CVE-2020-3843) was addressed by Apple in a series of security updates pushed as part of iOS 13.3.1 , macOS Catalina 10.15.3 and watchOS 5.3.7 earlier this year. "A remote attacker may be able to cause unexpected system termination or corrupt kernel memory," the iPhone maker noted in its advisory, adding the "memory corruption issue was addressed with improved input validation." Terego West Constituency MP Race; Electoral Commission Disqualifies Andua Martin an ANT Party Candidate and Sam Egama an NUP Party Candidate.

The Election commission has reversed the decision of the Returning Officer Terego electoral  district of nominating Parliamentary hopeful for Terego West Andua Martin Drani on grounds that his names "O" and "A" level  names he presented to EC for differ from his univerdity certificate as well as his ID. This comes after complain was launched by one voter identified ad Candia Emmanuel and after hearing the petition EC decided to to denominate Andua alongside Mr. Sam Egama another candidate for Terego west.
