The major malware families that have been leveraged for destructive activity as part of Russia's relentless digital assaults include: WhisperGate, HermeticWiper (FoxBlade aka KillDisk), HermeticRansom (SonicVote), IssacWiper (Lasainraw), CaddyWiper, DesertBlade, DoubleZero (FiberLake), and Industroyer2. Cloudflare Thwarts Record DDoS Attack Peaking at 15 Million Requests Per Second.

distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) attack Cloudflare on Wednesday disclosed that it acted to mitigate a 15.3 million request-per-second (RPS) distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) attack. The web infrastructure and website security company called it one of the "largest HTTPS DDoS attacks on record." "HTTPS DDoS attacks are more expensive in terms of required computational resources because of the higher cost of establishing a secure TLS encrypted connection," Cloudflare's Omer Yoachimik and Julien Desgats said. "Therefore it costs the attacker more to launch the attack, and for the victim to mitigate it." The volumetric DDoS attack is said to have lasted less than 15 seconds and targeted an unnamed Cloudflare customer operating a crypto launchpad. Volumetric DDoS attacks are designed to overwhelm a target network/service with significantly high volumes of malicious traffic, which typically originate from a botnet under a threat actor's control. di...

GEN MUHOOZI BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION WAS A GOOD THING BUT MISSED A GREAT OPPORTUNITY - BY EJIKU ROBERT.

Over the last few days, talk around town has been about the birthday celebrations of the first son Gen MUHOOZI Kainerugaba. The celebrations took place in several parts of the country and going by the social and other media posts, it was a great success. That was a good thing because he wanted to celebrate with others but also to make a statement and I'm sure all that was achieved. I was not in attendance but even if I received an invite for the much hyped Saturday event, I most likely would have missed it. I take the opportunity rather belatedly to congratulate him and wish him a happy 48th birthday. I wouldn't have attended because I had to attend the wedding of a close friend and business acquaintance on the same day. I realized we are separated in age by 9 months and 20 days (him older than me). I also congratulate the organizers of the different events across the country such as Balaam Barugahare whom I can call a friend I have spoken to a few times but we aren't as cl...

Can a “Will” Expire ?.

Nakku’s father was buried yesterday but her uncle Lwasa want to take over all the property ‘mbu’ his brother (Nakku’s father) made that will a long time ago when he was immature and just got too busy to change it so the will is expired. Nakku wants to know if a will can expire  WHAT DOES THE LAW SAY?  A will CANNOT expire. There is no time limit or expiry date on a will.  This is because a will shows what person wishes for when they are dead. It means that person has every chance while they are alive to change the will if their wishes should change.  If a person wants to end the contract, he/she must do one these things;  1. Make a new will  2. Tear/burn or destroy the old will.  3. Make an addition to the existing will.    ARE THERE ANY EXCEPTIONS?? There are. There is something called Privileged Wills. This is a will made by a person who is a soldier and is likely to die in war etc. the law allows this person to make this will ‘just in case...
